Terms and Conditions for an Antique & Upcycling Business
What You’re Buying
- Items are vintage, antique, or upcycled, which means they may show signs of age, wear, or previous use.
- Any major flaws will be described as accurately as possible, but small imperfections are considered part of the item’s character.
Upcycled & Custom Work
- Upcycled or custom-made pieces are created by hand, so variations in colour, finish, or texture are normal.
- Once a custom order has been approved and work has begun, it cannot be cancelled.
Product Descriptions & Photos
- Colours may appear slightly different due to lighting or screen settings.
- Measurements are approximate but taken with care.
Payments
- Payment must be made in full before collection or delivery.
- Deposits for custom work are non‑refundable unless agreed otherwise.
Delivery & Collection
- Delivery costs will be confirmed before purchase.
- If collecting, items must be picked up within the agreed timeframe.
- Once collected or delivered, the item becomes the buyer’s responsibility.
Returns & Refunds
- Due to the nature of antiques and upcycled items, returns are only accepted if the item is significantly different from the description.
- Change‑of‑mind returns are not accepted.
- Any issues must be reported within 48 hours of receiving the item.
Repairs & Aftercare
- Antique and upcycled items may require gentle handling and care.
- Damage caused by misuse, accidents, or improper care is not covered.
Holding Items
- Items can be held with a deposit for an agreed period.
- If the item is not collected or paid in full by the deadline, the deposit may be forfeited.
Liability
- We are not responsible for damage caused after delivery or collection.
- We do not guarantee that antique items meet modern safety standards unless stated (e.g., electrical items).
Privacy
- Any personal information provided (name, address, contact details) is used only for processing orders and will not be shared.
Warranty for Antiques, Vintage and Upcycled Items
What the Warranty Covers
This warranty applies only to the workmanship involved in any repairs, restoration or upcycling carried out by the business. It covers issues such as loose joints, failed fixings or faults directly related to the work completed.
️ What the Warranty Does Not Cover
Antique, vintage and upcycled items naturally show signs of age, wear and previous use. These characteristics are expected and are not considered faults. The warranty does not cover:
- Age‑related marks, patina, fading or imperfections.
- Wood movement, minor cracks or changes caused by temperature or humidity.
- Damage caused by misuse, accidents, improper handling or alterations made after purchase.
- Electrical items unless specifically stated as tested and warranted.
Warranty Period
A 30‑day limited warranty applies to workmanship only. This begins on the date of collection or delivery.
️ Reporting an Issue
Any concerns must be reported within the 30‑day period. The item may be inspected, and if the issue is confirmed to be related to workmanship, a repair or suitable solution will be offered.
Items Sold “As Seen”
All antiques, vintage pieces and curiosities are sold as seen and without modern‑style warranties, except for the limited workmanship warranty described above. Natural wear and imperfections form part of the item’s history and character.
Upholstery and Fabric
Condition of Upholstery
Antique and vintage items may include original or older upholstery. Due to age, these fabrics are not covered by any warranty. Wear, fading, thinning, or deterioration of older fabrics is considered normal for pieces of this age.
Upcycled or Reupholstered Items
Where an item has been newly upholstered or partially reupholstered as part of the upcycling process, the warranty applies only to the workmanship of the upholstery work carried out. This does not cover damage caused by use, spills, pets, or general wear over time.
No Safety or Fire-Rating Guarantee on Original Fabrics
Original antique or vintage fabrics may not meet modern fire‑safety standards. Unless stated otherwise, no guarantee is given regarding compliance with current regulations.
